<p>FIDES-WinTUBE was originally developed for tunnelling and therefore contains a large number of wizards that optimally support the user with tunnelling-specific problems.</p>

<p>However, the functionality is so generalised that FIDES-WinTUBE can be used for many finite element calculations.</p>

<p>However, the functionality is so generalised that FIDES-WinTUBE can be used for many finite element calculations.</p>

<p>Especially when spatial volume elements and/or the consideration of successive construction stages (load history) are required. The integrated SOFiSTiK interface is used to generate not only the input data sets for the FE mesh structure, but also the data for the entire calculation process. Manual intervention in the generated SOFiSTiK input files is not necessary, but is possible at any time. The calculation is performed with the SOFiSTiK calculation kernels TALPA or ASE. In addition to a technical report with graphics and a detailed description of the calculation, the results plots are also generated. The SOFiSTiK tools can be used to visualise the results.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Standard calculation package for foundation engineering</h2>

<p>Our large package for geotechnical engineers and all engineers who want to work on complex tasks in foundation engineering. In addition to the verification of any excavation shoring, our programmes for the verification of retaining structures such as angular retaining walls, underpinning or gabion walls are also included here. In addition to our slip circle calculation, our FIDES-GeoStability programme is also part of the package. Using the Kinematic Element Method (KEM), any fracture mechanisms can be modelled and optimised here and most geometric situations can be correctly captured. The verification of nail walls is just as possible as reinforced soil, defined sliding layers, etc. Our FIDES-Flow programme can also be used to calculate steady and unsteady flows in the systems defined in this way. Our two programmes for verifying simple ground failure and settlement calculations round off the package.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Dimensioning of bolted and welded<br/>Connections according to EC 3</h2>

<p>Designing and optimising structural steel connections has never been so easy. From a structural model of a SOFiSTiK calculation, you can easily select all nodes depending on the type of connection between the steel beams. STeelCON automatically determines the correct bar position in the connection. All data can be displayed graphically and interactively with the programmes SOFiSTiK-Animator or D.A.I.SY. can be selected. They are then presented as detailed graphics or as fully editable text embedded in tables. Powerful tools, such as the permanent updating of the graphics of the structural steel connection and the automatic distance check after each modification of the connection, allow the user to become familiar with the programme immediately. The engineer is informed about the degree of utilisation of each individual component of the structural steel connection and has full control over reducing or increasing the load-bearing capacity of the individual elements. The same connection can be designed for different nodes of the static model and for all load cases, and all associated results can be displayed in detail on the monitor.</p>
