FIDES-Flow

Flow calculations in foundation engineering

The increase in devastating flood disasters in recent years has not only sensitised those affected to the issue of the stability of dykes and dams. Design engineers are increasingly demanding easy-to-use tools to better assess the effects of water flowing through the ground. FIDES-Flow can be used to determine the free water level, flow velocities, flow volumes and water pressures in plane cross-sections for stationary conditions in the simplest possible way. The results can be displayed in other programmes of the FIDES geotechnical series or used to calculate the stability. This means that FIDES-Flow is not used as an independent programme but always as an extension module to other programmes, e.g. FIDES-GeoStability, FIDES-Slip Circle, FIDES-Earth Pressure.
